Ingredients

  • 1 lb mixed seafood (shrimp, squid, mussels)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups fish or seafood broth
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
  2. Add the minced garlic and diced red bell pepper, and cook for a few minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, fish or seafood broth, ground cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Add the mixed seafood to the pot and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through.
  5. Once the seafood is cooked, remove the pot from the heat and let the stew rest for a few minutes before serving.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve the Bisara hot with crusty bread or over rice.
