Black Forest Trifle (Schwarzwälder Kirsch Trifle)

Ingredients
- 1 chocolate sponge cake, cut into cubes
- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- 2 cups whipped cream
- 1/4 cup Kirsch (cherry brandy)
- Chocolate shavings for garnish
Instructions
- In the bottom of a trifle dish, layer half of the chocolate cake cubes.
- Drizzle half of the Kirsch over the cake.
- Spoon half of the cherry pie filling on top of the cake.
- Add a layer of half of the whipped cream.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, Kirsch, cherry filling, and whipped cream.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
