Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh blackberries
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold butter to the dry ingredients and use a pastry cutter or fork to cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Gently fold in the blackberries, being careful not to crush them.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and shape it into a 8-inch circle. Cut the circle into 8 wedges.
- Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow the scones to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
