Blueberry Bbq Sauce
Blueberry BBQ sauce is a unique and flavorful twist on traditional BBQ sauce. The sweetness of blueberries combined with the tanginess of vinegar and the smokiness of paprika creates a delicious and versatile sauce that can be used on grilled meats, sandwiches, or as a dipping sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the blueberries, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the blueberries have burst and the sauce has thickened.
- Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool slightly. Then, transfer it to a blender or use an immersion blender to puree until smooth.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, you can thin it out with a little water.
- Use the blueberry BBQ sauce immediately, or let it cool completely before transferring it to a jar or airtight container for storage.
