Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, dry yeast, nutmeg, and salt.
- Add the warm water to the dry ingredients and mix until a smooth batter forms.
- Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the batter rise for about 1 hour.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Scoop spoonfuls of the batter and carefully drop them into the hot oil.
- Fry the bofrots until they are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
- Remove the bofrots from the oil and drain them on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Serve the bofrots warm and enjoy!
