Bondas (crispy Prawn Fritters)

Ingredients

  • 250g prawns, cleaned and deveined
  • 1 cup chickpea flour
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 inch ginger, grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix chickpea flour, chopped onions, green chilies, grated ginger, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, coriander leaves, and salt.
  2. Add water gradually to make a thick batter.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
  4. Dip each prawn into the batter and carefully drop it into the hot oil.
  5. Fry the bondas until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the bondas from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
