Bosnian Lamb Kebabs (Bosanski Ražnjići)
Bosanski ražnjići, or Bosnian lamb kebabs, are a traditional Bosnian dish that is perfect for grilling and enjoying with family and friends. The combination of tender lamb and flavorful marinade makes these kebabs a delicious and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs lamb, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 metal or wooden skewers
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the chopped onion, minced garlic, olive oil, red wine vinegar, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Add the lamb cubes to the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning during grilling.
- Thread the marinated lamb cubes onto the skewers, distributing them evenly.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lamb is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
- Once cooked, remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
