Ingredients

  • 1 kg fresh crab, cleaned and cracked
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 green chilies, sliced
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 liter water
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat some oil in a large pot and add the cumin seeds. Once they start to sizzle, add the onions and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add the garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Sauté for a few minutes.
  3. Stir in the turmeric, coriander powder, and garam masala. Cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes and cook until they soften.
  5. Pour in the water and bring the broth to a boil.
  6. Add the cleaned and cracked crab to the pot. Season with salt and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
