Boules De Riz (fried Rice Balls)
Boules de Riz, also known as Fried Rice Balls, are a popular snack in Cameroonian cuisine. These crispy and flavorful rice balls are perfect for snacking or as a side dish.
Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked rice
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup grated cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
- 1/4 cup finely chopped bell peppers
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the cooked rice, bread crumbs, grated cheese, onions, bell peppers, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Form the mixture into golf ball-sized balls and dip each ball into the beaten eggs, then roll in bread crumbs to coat.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Fry the rice balls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the fried rice balls from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve the Boules de Riz hot and crispy.
