Ingredients
- 500g chicken feet
- 2 slices of ginger
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 2 green onions
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 teaspoon Sichuan peppercorns
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Wash the chicken feet and trim off the nails. Blanch in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- Heat the cooking oil in a wok or deep skillet over medium heat. Add the ginger, garlic, and green onions, and stir-fry until fragrant.
- Add the blanched chicken feet to the wok, and stir-fry for 5 minutes.
- Pour in the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and sugar. Stir well to coat the chicken feet.
- Add the star anise, cinnamon stick, and Sichuan peppercorns. Stir in the water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 1 hour, or until the chicken feet are tender.
- Uncover the wok and continue to cook until the sauce thickens.
- Transfer the braised chicken feet to a serving plate and garnish with chopped green onions, if desired.
