Braised Chicken Feet with Soy Sauce (红烧凤爪)

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken feet
  • 2 slices of ginger
  • 2 green onions, cut into sections
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 dried chili pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Sichuan peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Wash the chicken feet and trim off the nails. Blanch in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain.
  2. Heat some oil in a wok, add ginger, green onions, and chicken feet. Stir-fry until fragrant.
  3. Add soy sauce, sugar, Shaoxing wine, star anise, cinnamon stick, dried chili pepper, Sichuan peppercorns, salt, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
  4. Once the chicken feet are tender and the sauce has thickened, remove from heat and serve.
