Ingredients
- 500g chicken feet
- 3 slices ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
- 1 teaspoon Sichuan peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- In a pot of boiling water, blanch the chicken feet for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a separate pot, heat some oil and sauté the ginger, garlic, and green onions until fragrant.
- Add the blanched chicken feet, star anise, and cinnamon stick to the pot.
- Pour in the soy sauce, sugar, Shaoxing wine, Sichuan peppercorns, and chili flakes. Stir to coat the chicken feet.
- Add water to the pot, cover, and simmer for 1 hour, or until the chicken feet are tender.
- Once the chicken feet are tender, uncover the pot and continue to simmer until the sauce thickens.
- Serve the Hóngshāo Jīzǔ hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
