Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg chicken pieces
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Sauté the onions and garlic until fragrant.
  2. Add the chicken pieces and brown them on all sides.
  3. Pour in the tomato sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, and water. Add the bay leaves and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 45-50 minutes, or until the chicken is tender.
  5. Once the chicken is cooked, remove the bay leaves and adjust the seasoning if needed.
