Ingredients
- 1.5 kg chicken pieces
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 bay leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Sauté the onions and garlic until fragrant.
- Add the chicken pieces and brown them on all sides.
- Pour in the tomato sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, and water. Add the bay leaves and season with salt and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 45-50 minutes, or until the chicken is tender.
- Once the chicken is cooked, remove the bay leaves and adjust the seasoning if needed.
