Ingredients
- 4 chicken thighs
- 1 cup chestnuts, peeled
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 3 slices ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chicken thighs and cook until browned on both sides.
- Add the ginger, garlic, and green onions to the pot. Stir-fry for a minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and salt. Stir to coat the chicken evenly.
- Add the chicken broth and chestnuts. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes.
- Uncover the pot and continue to simmer for another 15 minutes, or until the chicken is tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Transfer the braised chicken with chestnuts to a serving dish. Serve hot with steamed rice.
