Braised Duck with Soy Sauce (豆油炖鸭)

Ingredients

  • 1 whole duck, cut into pieces
  • 4 slices of ginger
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup cooking wine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, blanch the duck pieces in boiling water for 5 minutes. Remove and drain.
  2. Heat some oil in the pot, then add ginger and green onions. Stir-fry until fragrant.
  3. Add the blanched duck pieces back into the pot. Pour in soy sauce, cooking wine, and sugar. Stir well.
  4. Pour in water and bring to a boil. Then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 2 hours until the duck is tender.
  5. Once done, transfer the braised duck to a serving dish and garnish with green onions. Serve hot.
