Ingredients
- 500g fresh eel, cleaned and sliced
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, sliced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- Sesame oil for drizzling
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and Shaoxing wine. Marinate the eel slices in this mixture for 15 minutes.
- Heat some oil in a pan and sauté the garlic, ginger, and green onions until fragrant.
- Add the marinated eel slices and sear until lightly browned.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cover and braise for 20 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Stir this into the braising liquid to thicken the sauce.
- Drizzle with sesame oil before serving.
