Braised Pork Ribs with Potatoes (土豆烧排骨)

Ingredients

  • 500g pork ribs, cut into individual pieces
  • 3 potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sliced onion, and sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add the pork ribs to the pot and brown them on all sides.
  3. Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Stir to coat the pork ribs evenly.
  4. Add the potatoes to the pot and pour in the water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1 hour, or until the pork ribs are tender and the potatoes are soft.
  5. Once done, remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
