Ingredients
- 500g pork belly, cut into chunks
- 200g bamboo shoots, sliced
- 3 slices of ginger
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- Blanch the pork belly in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- Heat some oil in a wok or deep pan, then add the ginger, garlic, and green onions. Stir-fry until fragrant.
- Add the pork belly and bamboo shoots to the wok, then pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, salt, and white pepper. Stir well to coat the meat and bamboo shoots with the seasonings.
- Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 hour, or until the pork is tender.
- Once the pork is tender, uncover the wok and continue to simmer until the sauce thickens.
- Serve the braised pork with bamboo shoots hot, with steamed rice.
