Ingredients
- 1 kg spare ribs, cut into individual pieces
- 3 slices ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp five-spice powder
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok over medium heat. Add ginger, garlic, and green onions. Stir-fry until fragrant.
- Add spare ribs to the wok and cook until browned on all sides.
- Pour in soy sauce, dark soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, and five-spice powder. Stir to coat the spare ribs.
- Pour in water and bring to a boil. Then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 hour, or until the spare ribs are tender.
- Uncover the wok and continue to cook until the sauce thickens and coats the spare ribs.
- Transfer the braised spare ribs to a serving dish and garnish with chopped green onions.
