Bratwurst and Sauerkraut Egg Rolls (Bratwurst und Sauerkraut Frühlingsrollen)
Bratwurst und Sauerkraut Frühlingsrollen, or Bratwurst and Sauerkraut Egg Rolls, are a delicious German twist on a classic appetizer. These crispy egg rolls are filled with savory bratwurst and tangy sauerkraut, creating a perfect blend of flavors and textures.
Ingredients
- 6 bratwurst sausages, casings removed
- 2 cups sauerkraut, drained
- 12 egg roll wrappers
- 1 egg, beaten
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bratwurst until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and let it cool.
- In the same skillet, add the sauerkraut and cook for 5 minutes to remove excess moisture. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon a portion of the bratwurst and sauerkraut mixture onto the center of the wrapper. Fold the sides of the wrapper towards the center, then roll it up tightly, sealing the edges with the beaten egg.
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Fry the egg rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve the Bratwurst und Sauerkraut Frühlingsrollen hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
