Brazilian Feijoada Dumplings (Empanadillas de Feijoada Brasileña)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup black beans, cooked and mashed
  • 1/2 cup smoked sausage, diced
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 20 round dumpling wrappers
  • Water for sealing the dumplings
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the mashed black beans, smoked sausage, onion, garlic, cilantro, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Place a small spoonful of the feijoada mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
  3. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold and pleat to seal the dumplings.
