Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture, and knead the dough until smooth.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  5. In a large pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil.
  6. Divide the dough into 8 equal parts and roll each part into a long rope.
  7. Shape the dough into pretzels and dip them in the boiling water for 30 seconds.
  8. Place the pretzels on a baking sheet, sprinkle with coarse sea salt, and bake for 12-15 minutes.
  9. Let the pretzels cool before serving.
