Ingredients
- 2 cups buckwheat groats
- 4 cups water
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cups mixed mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring the water to a boil and add the buckwheat groats. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
- In a separate pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan and cook until they are tender and golden brown.
- Once the buckwheat is cooked, fluff it with a fork and add the sautéed mushrooms and onions. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Stir everything together and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
