Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and lemon zest.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the yeast mixture into the wet ingredients and mix well.
  5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  6. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10-15 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  7. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  8. Punch down the dough and knead in the raisins and almonds.
  9. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  10. Cover the loaf with a kitchen towel and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  11. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the bread for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown.
  12. Let the bread cool before slicing and serving.
