Bulgogi (불고기) Fried Rice is a delicious and flavorful dish that combines the iconic Korean bulgogi with the comforting goodness of fried rice. It's a perfect way to use up leftover rice and enjoy a quick and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked white rice, chilled
- 1/2 lb (225g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 carrot, diced
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and sesame oil. Add the beef slices and marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook until browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed and sauté the onion and carrot until they start to soften.
- Add the chilled rice to the pan and break up any clumps. Stir-fry for a few minutes until the rice is heated through.
- Return the cooked beef to the pan, add the frozen peas, and stir to combine everything.
- Finally, add the chopped green onions and give it a final stir. Remove from heat.
- Serve the bulgogi fried rice in bowls, garnished with sesame seeds.
