Ingredients
- 500g thinly sliced beef (bulgogi cut)
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2-3 green onions, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1 carrot, thinly sliced
- 4 shiitake mushrooms, sliced
- 100g enoki mushrooms, bottom part trimmed
- 100g Korean glass noodles (dangmyeon)
- 6 cups beef or vegetable broth
- Marinade for beef: 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp sesame oil, 3 cloves garlic (minced), 1 tsp grated ginger, 1/4 tsp black pepper
- For serving: Korean dipping sauce (ssamjang) and steamed rice
Instructions
- Marinate the thinly sliced beef in the marinade for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare the vegetables and noodles.
- In a large pot or Korean hot pot (jeongol pan), arrange the marinated beef, vegetables, and glass noodles.
- Pour the broth over the ingredients in the pot.
- Cover and bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 20-25 minutes.
- Serve the bulgogi jeongol hot pot with Korean dipping sauce and steamed rice.
