Bush's Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the pot and cook until the vegetables are tender.
  3. Stir in the kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring the chili to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  5. Adjust the seasoning to taste and serve hot.
