Butter Chicken Tostones
Butter Chicken Tostones are a fusion dish that combines the flavors of Indian butter chicken with the crispy texture of tostones, creating a delicious and unique fast food experience.
Ingredients
- 4 green plantains, peeled and sliced into 1-inch rounds
- 1 cup cooked butter chicken, shredded
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil for frying
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry the plantain rounds for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and flatten each round with a tostonera or the back of a heavy glass.
- Return the flattened plantains to the hot oil and fry for an additional 2-3 minutes on each side until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a separate pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the ginger and garlic paste, and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the shredded butter chicken, garam masala, chili powder, turmeric, and salt. Stir to combine and cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream and simmer for an additional 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Top each tostone with a spoonful of the butter chicken mixture and garnish with fresh cilantro.
