Butter Dosa (davangere Benne Dosa)
Butter Dosa, also known as Davangere Benne Dosa, is a popular South Indian dish from Karnataka Cuisine. It is a delicious and crispy dosa made with butter, which gives it a rich and flavorful taste.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rice flour
- 1/2 cup urad dal (black gram lentils)
- 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
- 1/4 cup poha (flattened rice)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Butter for cooking
Instructions
- Wash and soak the rice flour, urad dal, and fenugreek seeds in water for 4-5 hours.
- Grind the soaked ingredients along with poha to a smooth batter. Add salt and mix well. Let it ferment overnight.
- Heat a non-stick pan and pour a ladleful of batter. Spread it in a circular motion to make a thin dosa.
- Spread some butter on the dosa and cook until it turns crispy and golden brown.
- Serve hot with chutney or sambar.
