Butter Prawns (奶油虾)

Ingredients

  • 500g large prawns, deveined and shells removed
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Pat dry the prawns with paper towels.
  2. In a bowl, mix cornstarch and all-purpose flour. Coat the prawns in the flour mixture, then dip in beaten egg, and coat again with the flour mixture.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the prawns until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  4. In a separate pan, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  5. Add condensed milk, sugar, salt, and white pepper. Stir until well combined.
  6. Add the fried prawns to the butter sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  7. Transfer the butter prawns to a serving plate and serve hot.
