Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or lamb
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 package phyllo dough
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
  2. Add the ground meat to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  3. Season the meat mixture with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Stir in the chopped parsley and remove from heat.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish and layer half of the phyllo dough sheets in the bottom, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
  5. Spoon the meat mixture over the phyllo dough in an even layer. Sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese on top of the meat.
  6. Layer the remaining phyllo dough sheets on top of the meat and brush each sheet with melted butter.
  7. Cut the pie into squares or triangles, then bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the phyllo dough is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
