Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup water
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and a pinch of salt. Gradually add the water and knead the dough until smooth. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the yogurt until smooth. Season with salt to taste.
- Roll out one portion of the dough into a thin sheet and brush it with olive oil. Repeat with the remaining portions of dough.
- Layer the oiled dough sheets on top of each other to form a stack.
- Spread the yogurt and egg mixture evenly over the stacked dough.
- Roll the dough stack into a log and then coil it into a round pie shape.
- Transfer the pie to a greased baking dish and brush the top with olive oil.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve the Byrek with Yogurt warm or at room temperature.
