Cabbage and Mushroom Stir-Fry (Kopūstų ir grybų troškinys)
This traditional Lithuanian dish, Kopūstų ir grybų troškinys, is a hearty and flavorful cabbage and mushroom stir-fry that is perfect for a cozy dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
- 250g mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan and cook until they release their moisture and start to brown.
- Add the chopped cabbage to the pan and stir-fry until it starts to wilt.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, and continue cooking until the cabbage is tender.
- Remove from heat and serve hot.
