Cabbage and Potato Casserole (Kapustovo-zemiaková zapekaná misa)

Ingredients

  • 1 head of cabbage, shredded
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup of vegetable broth
  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 1/2 cup of grated cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pot, sauté the onion and garlic in butter until softened.
  3. Add the shredded cabbage and cook until it wilts.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
  5. Spread the cooked cabbage mixture over the potatoes.
  6. Layer the remaining potatoes on top of the cabbage.
  7. In a bowl, mix the vegetable broth and sour cream, then pour over the potatoes and cabbage.
  8. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top.
  9. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  11. Serve hot and enjoy!
