Kopūstų sriuba su mėsa, or Cabbage Roll Delight, is a traditional Lithuanian dish that combines the flavors of cabbage, meat, and vegetables in a hearty and comforting soup.

Cabbage Roll Delight (Kopūstų sriuba su mėsa)

Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 500g ground pork
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 carrots, grated
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 can of tomato sauce
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil the whole head of cabbage in a large pot of water for 5 minutes, then carefully remove the leaves and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix the ground pork, onion, carrots, rice, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll it up, tucking in the sides.
  4. In a separate pot, combine the tomato sauce and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Add the cabbage rolls to the pot, cover, and simmer for 1 hour.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
