Ingredients

  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and blanch them in the boiling water for 2-3 minutes until they are pliable. Remove and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, cooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll them up, tucking in the sides as you go.
  5. In a large pot, combine the tomato sauce and diced tomatoes. Place the cabbage rolls seam side down in the pot. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
  6. Serve the cabbage rolls hot, spooning the tomato sauce over the top.
