Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and blanch them in the boiling water for 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside to cool.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, uncooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll it up, tucking in the sides to form a neat roll.
  4. Place the cabbage rolls in a large pot and pour the beef broth and tomato sauce over them. Cover and simmer for 1 hour, or until the cabbage is tender and the filling is cooked through.
