Ingredients
- 1 large head of cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and blanch them in the boiling water for 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside to cool.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Place a spoonful of the beef mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll them up, tucking in the sides as you go.
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Place the cabbage rolls seam side down in the pot.
- Pour the crushed tomatoes over the cabbage rolls. Cover and simmer for 1 hour, until the cabbage is tender and the filling is cooked through.
- Serve the cabbage rolls with the tomato sauce spooned over the top.
