Ingredients
- 1 pre-made pie crust
- 6 slices of bacon, chopped
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced

- 1/2 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the pie crust in a tart pan and set aside.
- In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.
- Add the butter to the skillet with the bacon fat. Add the sliced onions, salt, and pepper. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelized, about 20-25 minutes.
- Sprinkle the shredded Gruyère cheese over the bottom of the pie crust. Top with the caramelized onions and crispy bacon.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream. Pour the mixture over the onions and bacon in the pie crust.
- Bake the tart in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
- Let the tart cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
