Ingredients

  • 4 ripe plantains
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pre-made pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel the plantains and slice them diagonally into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
  3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sugar and cook, stirring constantly, until the sugar melts and turns golden brown.
  4. Add the plantains to the caramelized sugar and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are caramelized and tender. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and ground cinnamon.
  5. Place the pre-made pie crust in a pie dish and arrange the caramelized plantains on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
