Caribbean Bbq Tofu Dumplings
These Caribbean BBQ Tofu Dumplings are a delicious fusion of Caribbean and Chinese flavors, perfect for a flavorful appetizer or main dish. The combination of BBQ sauce and tofu wrapped in a dumpling creates a unique and tasty dish that's sure to impress your family and friends.
Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, drained and crumbled
- 1/2 cup Caribbean BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper
- 1/4 cup shredded carrots
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 package of dumpling wrappers
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the crumbled tofu, Caribbean BBQ sauce, green onions, red bell pepper, carrots, ginger, and soy sauce.
- Place a small spoonful of the tofu mixture in the center of a dumpling wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold and pleat to seal the dumpling.
- Repeat with the remaining wrappers and tofu mixture.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of oil.
- Place the dumplings in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet, cover, and steam the dumplings for 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the lid and continue cooking until all the water has evaporated.
- Serve the Caribbean BBQ Tofu Dumplings hot with additional BBQ sauce for dipping.
