Caril De Carne E Batata (beef And Potato Curry)

Ingredients
- 500g beef, cut into cubes
- 3 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 cups coconut milk
- 2 cups water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat some oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic, and cook until softened.
- Add the beef cubes and cook until browned on all sides.
- Stir in the turmeric, coriander, cumin, and paprika, coating the beef evenly with the spices.
- Pour in the coconut milk and water, then add the potatoes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Bring the curry to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 1 hour, or until the beef is tender and the potatoes are cooked through.
- Serve the Caril de Carne e Batata hot with steamed rice or crusty bread.
