Cepelinai (lithuanian Cepelinai)
Cepelinai, also known as "zeppelins" due to their shape, are a traditional Lithuanian dish made from grated and riced potatoes filled with ground meat or cheese.
Ingredients
- 6 large potatoes, peeled
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Grate the potatoes and squeeze out the excess liquid using a clean kitchen towel.
- Combine the ground pork, chopped onion, salt, and pepper in a bowl to make the filling.
- Form the potato dough into oval shapes, fill each with the meat mixture, and seal the edges.
- Boil the cepelinai in salted water for 30-40 minutes until they float to the surface.
- Serve hot with sour cream and melted butter.
