Cetinje Cheese Pie
Cetinje Cheese Pie is a traditional dish from Montenegrin cuisine, known for its rich and savory flavors. This delicious pie is perfect for a hearty breakfast or a satisfying snack.
Ingredients
- 500g phyllo dough
- 250g feta cheese, crumbled
- 250g cottage cheese
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large bowl, mix the feta cheese, cottage cheese, eggs, and milk. Season with salt and pepper.
- Brush a baking dish with melted butter.
- Layer half of the phyllo dough sheets in the bottom of the dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
- Pour the cheese mixture over the phyllo dough.
- Layer the remaining phyllo dough sheets on top, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until the pie is golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
