Cevapi, also known as Cevapi sliders, are a popular dish in Balkan cuisine. These small grilled sausages are typically served with flatbread, onions, and a side of ajvar or kajmak.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground lamb
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup sparkling water
- Flatbread or pita, for serving
- Chopped onions, for garnish
- Ajvar or kajmak, for serving
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, ground lamb, chopped onion, garlic, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Gradually add the sparkling water to the meat mixture, mixing until well combined.
- Shape the meat mixture into small sausage-shaped portions, about 2 inches long.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and grill the cevapi for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until fully cooked.
- Serve the cevapi on flatbread or pita, garnished with chopped onions, and accompanied by ajvar or kajmak.
