Cha Traop Ang (stir-fried Water Spinach)
Cha Traop Ang is a popular Cambodian dish made with stir-fried water spinach, also known as morning glory. This simple and flavorful dish is a staple in Cambodian cuisine, often served as a side dish or as part of a larger meal.
Ingredients
- 1 bunch of water spinach (morning glory)
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
Instructions
- Wash the water spinach thoroughly and cut it into 3-inch long pieces.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the water spinach to the wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until wilted.
- Season with soy sauce, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes.
- Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot.
