Cha Traop Doung (stir-fried Tofu With Vegetables)
Cha Traop Doung is a popular Cambodian dish featuring stir-fried tofu with an assortment of fresh vegetables. This flavorful and nutritious dish is a staple in Cambodian cuisine, known for its vibrant colors and aromatic flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, drained and cubed
- 1 cup of broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 1/2 cup of snap peas
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/4 cup of vegetable broth
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the tofu cubes and stir-fry until golden brown, then remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
- Add the broccoli, bell pepper, carrot, and snap peas to the pan, and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Return the tofu to the pan with the vegetables.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, black pepper, and vegetable broth. Pour this sauce over the tofu and vegetables, and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
