Chamorro Pancit
Chamorro Pancit is a traditional Guamanian noodle dish that is packed with flavor and is a favorite at fiestas and family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 pound rice noodles
- 1/2 pound pork, thinly sliced
- 1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 carrots, julienned
- 1/2 cabbage, shredded
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Soak the rice noodles in warm water for 10 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the pork and cook until browned.
- Add the shrimp, onion, and garlic, and cook until the shrimp turns pink.
- Pour in the soy sauce and chicken broth, then bring to a boil.
- Add the carrots, cabbage, and green onions, and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the rice noodles and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the noodles are tender.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
