Chao Dou Fu (stuffed Tofu Puffs)
Chao Dou Fu, also known as Stuffed Tofu Puffs, is a popular dish in Guangxi Cuisine. It features tofu puffs stuffed with a flavorful mixture and then cooked to perfection.
Ingredients
- 8 tofu puffs
- 200g ground pork
- 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the tofu puffs by cutting a slit in the side of each puff to create a pocket for the stuffing.
- In a bowl, mix the ground pork, chopped mushrooms, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper.
- Stuff each tofu puff with the pork mixture, pressing gently to fill the pocket.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat and place the stuffed tofu puffs in the pan.
- Cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until the tofu puffs are golden brown and the pork mixture is cooked through.
- Season with salt to taste and serve hot.
