Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 lb broccoli, cut into florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate the sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt for 15 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the oyster sauce, sugar, and beef broth. Set aside.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the broccoli and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Remove from the wok and set aside.
  4. Heat the remaining oil in the wok. Add the minced garlic and stir-fry until fragrant.
  5. Add the marinated beef to the wok and stir-fry until it is no longer pink. Return the broccoli to the wok.
  6. Pour the oyster sauce mixture over the beef and broccoli. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the ingredients evenly.
  7. Season with black pepper and adjust the seasoning with salt if needed.
  8. Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot with steamed rice.
